AGE APPROPRIATENESS TIERS
Shobbl uses Age Appropriateness Tiers to control access, discovery, advertising, and monetization.
All content is evaluated based on presentation, context, and likely audience impact.
Sexual content is defined by our Sexual Content Definitions and further governed by Shobbl's Sexual Content Guidelines and is never permitted outside the rules defined there.
All Ages
Content suitable for everyone, including young children.
May include:
educational, informational, or family-friendly material;
cartoon, fantasy, or clearly non-realistic action;
mild, non-threatening themes;
innocent affection or romance without intimacy.
Must not include:
suggestive, sexualized, or arousal-focused content;
frightening or disturbing material;
realistic violence;
strong language;
references to drugs, gambling, or adult products.
7+
Content suitable for children 7 and older.
May include:
mild fantasy or non-realistic violence;
brief or mild moments of tension;
very mild language;
innocent romantic references.
Must not include:
suggestive, sexualized, or arousal focused content;
realistic or sustained violence;
strong language;
depictions of drug use, gambling, or adult products.
12+
Content suitable for audiences 12 and older.
May include:
non-graphic violence;
mild or infrequent strong language;
references to relationships or attraction;
non-sexual partial nudity in contextual settings (e.g., art, fitness, medical);
mild, non-interactive references to alcohol, tobacco, or gambling;
Suggestive Content consisting of non-explicit references to attraction, romance, or mild sensuality that are not intended to evoke sexual arousal, do not emphasize sexualized body presentation, and do not meet the definition of Arousal-Focused or Sexualized Content under Shobbl’s Sexual Content Definitions.
Must not include:
Sexualized Content or Arousal-Focused Content;
explicit sexual references;
graphic violence or cruelty;
interactive or real-world gambling mechanics.
16+
Content suitable for audiences 16 and older.
May include:
realistic but non-graphic violence;
strong language;
mature themes such as crime, conflict, or substance use;
simulated gambling mechanics;
Suggestive Content consisting of limited sensual or suggestive material that may incidentally evoke attraction or interest, provided sexual arousal is not the primary or dominant intended effect, the content remains non-explicit, and it does not meet the definition of Arousal-Focused or Sexualized Content under Shobbl’s Sexual Content Definitions.
Must not include:
Sexualized Content;
content intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and older;
interactive or real-world gambling mechanics.
18+
Content suitable for adults 18 and older.
May include:
graphic violence;
strong or sustained adult themes;
real-world gambling;
unrestricted language;
Arousal-Focused Content that complies with the Sexual Content Guidelines;
Sexualized Content hosted on the adult.shobbl.com domain that complies with the Sexual Content Guidelines.
Additional safeguards may apply, including age verification, restricted placement, reduced discoverability, and advertising or monetization limitations.
Important Notes
Age tiers do not override the Sexual Content Guidelines.
Content may be reclassified if its presentation or context changes.
Any sexualized or Arousal-Focused Content involving minors is strictly prohibited, regardless of tier.
